On November, 1–2, 2010 the Charles University Environment Center organized the workshop "Environmental Valuation & Macro-structural Models" in the historical buildings of Charles University in Prague in Carolinum (Ovocný trh 3-5, Prague 1). The workshop was held in English.

 UNEP Yearbook 2011 WorkshopBetween August ,23 and 27 the Charles University Environment Center hosted the UNEP Year Book 2011 Expert Writing Workshop on Emerging Issues. This workshop organized by the UNEP and SCOPE organizations with the help of the Charles University Environment Center focused on three emerging issues for the new UNEP yearbook.

26 scientists from educational and research institutions from 14 countries participated in this workshop and discussed the following topics of the future chapters: 

1. forest biodiversity

2. phosphorus shortage and food security

3. plastics pollution in rivers and oceans

The Charles University Environment Center invites you to the Seminar on Theory of Planned Behavior: Recent Developments and Applications on Pro-environmental Behavior.

We are proud to announce two keynote speakers, Professor Icek Ajzen (University of Massachusetts) and Professor Peter Schmidt (Justus-Liebig-Universität Gießen), who will open the seminar with their lectures.

 

The seminar will take place on 24th September 2010 at the Charles University – Karolinum, Ovocný trh 3, Prague 1. Working language of the seminar is English.

The Charles University Environment Center is organizing the workshop “Economic Valuation of Recreation Functions of Forest Ecosystems”. The workshop focuses on application of non-market valuation methods in the field of forestry in the Czech Republic. The current stage of research on valuation of recreation functions of forests will be presented. Further, practical and theoretical issues of this type of research will be discussed at this workshop. A particular emphasis will be given to discussion of contingent valuation method, choice experiment and travel cost method.
