Capacity Building for New Forms of Education Towards Sustainable Development and Support of Co-operation among Prague Universities in the Area

Pilot  and initiation project: new forms of cooperation among universities are initiated and tested, an open space for new forms of teaching and e-learning is created, creation of an information center started to achieve a better coverage of further aspects of sustainable development in education. New teaching modules were created: Globalization and global problems (CUEC), Environmental economics for non-specialists, Resolving of environmental conflicts by negotiation, tutorial case studies (University of Economics in Prague).

MSM 119000003 Sustainable development - ways towards increasing of public participation for supporting of the Czech Republic sustatainable development trajectory

The aim of the research plan is to achieve active public participation in implementing the principles of sustainable development. The strategy is to determine the critical elements of sustainability of economic and social development of CR with the aim of maintaining reasonable levels of environmental and natural resources, quantifying and determining the indicators of these elements. Similarly, the aim is to specify target community groups and to active promote the concept of sustainable development.

 

 

 

GP402/07/P484 Theoretical analysis of transport regulation

The project focuses on the theory and empirical evidence in the field of optimal passenger transport regulation. The project tries to contribute to the understanding of transport regulation in the consistent methodological framework of welfare economics, by overviewing and extending some recent microeconomic models, which are then calibrated to the case of the Czech Republic.

GA205/04/0582 State assesment of the environment by the material and energy flow analysis

The project focused on analysing incremental material stock in the Czech Republic and energy flow indicators for the Czech Republic for 1990-2003. The NAS indicator first calculated using the so-called direct method.

1C/7/14/04 Material flows and sustainable resource management

The project focused on the assessment of usability of the indicators of material flows for conveying material intensity and the decoupling of environmental pressures and economic performance. Furthermore, it addresses the calculation of output indicators of material flows and their breakdown by sector and environmental media (water, air, soil).

SM/320/1/03 External costs of electricity and heat production in the Czech Republic and methods of their internalisation

The principal goal of the project is the estimation of external costs related with the energy and heat production in the Czech Republic both at the level of particular energy technologies as well as for the CR as a whole.The project will concentrate on the determination of the negativen and positive external effects related to the operation of the energetic systems, their quantification and will propose and analyze particular methods of internalisation.A methodology for the economic evaluation of different energetic installations and systems will be also draught.
