We invite you to a panel discussion organized by the Charles University Environment Center in cooperation with the Czech Forum for Development Cooperation as a site event of the Forum 2000 Conference.
Time and Venue: Tuesday, September 15 at 15:45 pm., Goethe-Institut, Masarykovo nábřeží 32, Prague 1.
Education will be discussed in its social context with regard to its goals and impact on both society and individuals. We are interested in various social actors’ points of view and the deliberative processes influencing education in the contemporary world. Part of the discussion will focus on strategies for developing open, creative, value-based pedagogies and necessary changes to the education system.
Panel members:
Jaroslav Anděl, artistic director-at-large at the DOX Centre for Contemporary Art in Prague, author of numerous books and exhibitions.
Jana Dlouhá,researcher at the Charles University Environment Center; editor-in-chief of Envigogika journal; vice-president of the Copernicus Alliance - the European Network on Higher Education for Sustainable Development.
Ilona Wiss, president of the International Center for Cultural and Educational Exchange: The Bĕhal Fejér Institute and founder of the C21 initiative focusing on Czech educational reform.
The discussion will be facilitated by Bob Kartous, Media Relations Manager at EDUin, o.p.s. The discussion will be in English and translation into Czech will be provided.
